OVERLAND, directed and produced by Revere La Noue and Elisabeth Haviland James, is a feature documentary (currently in post- production) about the stories of three extraordinary people whose passion for the ancient art of falconry leads them on adventures across four continents. Originally from Oklahoma, Lauren is collecting falconry secrets from around the world as she attempts to to save an African Crowned Eagle. On a small farm in the hills of Abruzzo, Italy, Giovanni confronts a life of tragedy by reviving the naturalist values of a 13th-century Master Falconer. On the outskirts of Dubai, Khalifa relies on his Bedouin heritage as he leads his family of falcon racers through a tumultuous season. A “nature story about humans,” Overland will take you on a journey through the grasslands of the American prairies, the Scottish hills, the Italian countryside, the Rub' al Khali desert in the United Arab Emirates, the fields of Azerbaijan and the tip of the Kalahari desert in South Africa to discover what it means to become a trusted partner of the wild.
